A model of rapid cycle performance improvement developed by NIATx has been used by addiction treatment agencies around the country to increase admissions, decrease wait times for treatment, and improve treatment retention. This session will provide an overview of that model and how to use performance improvement cycle data to quickly evaluate the effect of program changes. Of equal importance, the session will highlight strategies for communicating program improvements using stories and key statistics.

This facilitated session will provide the opportunity for evaluators to discuss issues of focus for the Evaluation Special Topics Working Groups—Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Cultural Competence, Chronic Homelessness, Criminal Justice Involvement, Cross-Site Evaluation, Veterans, Women and Families—as well as to come together as a community to share progress made, obstacles remaining, and next steps. Each group leader will briefly present to session participants and provide the opportunity for broader discussion of evaluation issues related to treatment for those who are homeless. Each group will then meet providing the opportunity for others who may not have attended to join the group and those who have participated in the working calls to meet face-to-face.
