Cares and Shares Coin Drive
Want to see how young people can make
a difference by joining forces? Bring quarters for
the NYS Cares and Shares Coin Drive. Your vote during
the Summit will decide the organization that receives
all of the coins collected (see choices below). The
final total raised and recipient organization will
be announced on Saturday.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, www.bbbsa.org
The oldest and largest youth mentoring organization
in the United States, Big Brothers Big Sisters supports
mentoring relationships between caring volunteers
and vulnerable children.
Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption,
www.davethomasfoundationforadoption.org
By increasing adoption awareness and supporting model
adoption programs, the foundation is dedicated to
increasing the adoptions of the more than 150,000
children in the foster care system.
Habitat for Humanity, www.habitat.org
Through the work of volunteers, Habitat builds and
rehabilitates simple, affordable houses in partnership
with those who lack adequate shelter and has built
more than 175,000 houses for nearly 900,000 people
worldwide.

Working with the simple idea of giving poor families
a source of food rather than short-term relief, Heifer
has given millions of families the gifts of income-producing
animals, community development training, and environmentally
sound farming.
National Coalition for the Homeless,

The coalition works to empower homeless people, whose
voices are essential to the public policy debate,
by focusing on economic, housing, and health care
justice through grassroots organizing, public education,
and policy advocacy.

the health and well-being of children and families
